This club is open to 6-8 grade students who are interested in creating drawings, paintings, and sculptures. Canvases available for painting and we will also experimentwith other materials. This is a time for artistic exploration and developing craft. Artwork/projects can be assigned or self-guided.

Games Club
Come join Games Club! We have a variety of games to play, from Monopoly to Chess, to Uno or even Connect 4! It’s a great way to have your competitive side come out and be challenged by others in a fun environment! You could join with a friend or come to meet new people. We will meet on Tuesdays 2:30-3:30 in the library, 2-3 times each month. It has been a club that many have enjoyed for some social time with your peers!

Jazz Band
The TMS Music Department is excited to continue our Jazz Program! Our instructor, Mr. Sean McCormick is a UConn Graduate Student and is interning at THS this year. Jazz band is a club designed to introduce students to playing jazz music and improvising. Students must have experience playing an instrument to join, but do NOT need experience in playing jazz. We will meet onMondays from 2:30-3:40 in the TMS Auditorium. Rehearsals will start Monday September 19th. Students can either be picked up or take the late bus after rehearsal. Performance dates are Thursday January 12th and Tuesday April 25th. More information can be foundhere.

Model UN
Tolland Middle School's award-winning Model UN program will run again this year!Over the last three years, several TMS students have won awards for their performance at the Model UN conference in March. If you are interested in globalcommunities, role playing and/or debating important issues, the Model UN Club might be for you.Students will meetafter school once a month through December, twice a month in January, and weekly through February and March, then back to once a month from April through June. The club involves participationin a full-day Model UN conference on a Saturday in late March.

School Store and Laughter Club
During most of the hour-long meeting, students organize the store and take inventory, plan sales and specials, count money and order new merchandise, and advertise with signs and a display case. create a showcase display, organize the store, and socialize with other members.
The School Store is open for business Tuesday through Friday 7:45 - 8:00.
Club members can take turns working at the school store in the mornings if they want to work in sales.
New this year: At the end of the meeting, the students will practice some laughter exercises to add a bit of fun and playfulness to the club.

Scrapbooking Club
The Scrapbooking Club provides students with an opportunity to work on their personal scrapbooks or create a new one. They may also work on handmade cards. New techniques will be taught, and ideas will be shared. Each student works at their own pace. Many items such as die cuts, paper, stickers, embellishments, stamps, and inks have been generously donated. We also have a die cut machine, cutters, fancy scissors, and punches. Students need to supply their own adhesives and pictures, as well as a 12" X 12" carry case to transport supplies and finished pages. The Scrapbooking Club is also a great way to socialize with friends after school while preserving your memories.

The Tolland Middle School 6th Grade Student Government empowers our young adolescents to take leadership roles. Students will participate in team, school, community, and local government activities. T.M.S. News and Media Club
The TMS News & Media Club meets once a week on Wednesdays, from 2:30 - 4:00 p.m.,in the Library Media Center. The purpose of this club is to create a multimedia student news organization that will report on the great things going on at TMS. Students involved in the program will have the opportunity to write about school events, conduct interviews and learn how to use camcorders and digital cameras to capture the action. The club will work as a team to collect information and report on the school’s events and create a weekly news broadcast for the school community that will be posted on the TMS News Wiki. The web address for the wiki is:TMSNews.wikispaces.com.
All students are expected to follow the Acceptable Use Policy for Technology set forth in the student handbook.
Due to the nature of the club, there may be days when students may choose to stay after school to interview students in other clubs or document school events. Students are required to follow the Student After-school Policy and obtain permission from a parent and the school. In the event of a club cancellation announcement, students are to take their regular buses home.

Yearbook Club
This group is responsible for designing and constructing the Yearbook. The club meets weekly from the end of September until the beginning of April. We meet again at the beginning of June to organize the yearbooks for distribution. The fee for this club is $40.00 - payable to TMS SAA due at the second meeting or before.
